80’s Music
The eighties were just as successful as the seventies and looking at top performers you have to mention Duran Duran first. This synthpop group was formed in 1978, however only became a name worth mentioning during the 80s.They continue to be one of the best today and beat the new age songs by far.
Another top magnificent band with excellent albums is the hard rock band of the eighties, Bon Jovi. You cannot argue the fact that Jon Bon Jovi who is the lead vocalist is outstanding and one of the greatest sounding of that time and still today. Living on a Prayer certainly is one of the greatest songs of all time.

The trash metal band Metallica who formed early 1980 only produced severly elite albums in the eighties. Only in the nineties did they start to spew commercial music and went off my eighties list. If you listen to their eighties music like One, Master of Puppets and Fade to Black you will realize why they were one of the 80s greatest.
The 1985 formed hard rock band
The 1985 formed hard rock band Guns N Roses with Axl Rose as vocalist ruled the world during their time. It is a real pity Axl wasted his talents but that they produced awesome sound is no mistake.

U2 who formed during 1976 with post-punk sound rose to fame in the 80s with some outstanding songs. You will agree with me that they continue to grow and getting better and one of the bands with unparalleled respect for fans. Bono certainly is great and some of U2s best songs include Rattle and Hum, The Joshua Tree, The Unforgettable Fire, War, October and Boy.
The English rock band Tears
The English rock band Tears for Fears are world rulers for sure and the meaningful music cannot be underrated. Roland Orzabal certainly is one of the greatest voices of all time. Something else worth noting is that they are one of the only bands that left drugs alone, superb! They were great in the eighties and still are.
The English rock band that formed in 1976, but only rose to fame and greatness in the 80s is The Cure. It is a band with soul and heart with timeless and unique music. It is a pity though that only Robert Smith, the principal songwriter, guitarist and vocalist remains the constant one in the group with the rest of the members continuously changing. Does not make them less great though…
The 80s band R.E.M is another outstanding group and I have listened to each one of their albums from start to finish. Each one is different and great including Oh my Heart, Lower and Wolves. I will certainly call Michael Stipe one of the world’s best Lyricists of all time and I am certain many of you will agree.
